A Local Company Built on Showing Up
Born in Staunton. Trained by a painter with 40 years in the trade. Our name is on every job.
The CrewWes Arey, Owner
I'm Wes Arey, owner of J&A Painting, Inc. I was born in Staunton, Virginia, and I've spent the last 12+ years learning the trade from my dad, Wesley Arey Sr. He's been painting for over 40 years. He started in residential, spent years on government and industrial crews (like the underground tank at the Pentagon), then came back to working directly with homeowners. He taught me how to do quality work and that you wake up early and show up, even when you don't feel like it.
Today I run J&A Painting, meeting with clients, building estimates, growing the business, and occasionally still in the field. I keep sharpening my skills through ongoing leadership and trade training, and I work with one of the top coaches in the painting industry.

Wesley Sr., 40 YearsOne Crew. One Standard.
Behind every project is a detailed, dedicated crew trained in the way we work. They learn in the field and hold themselves to the same standard: show up, prep right, and treat every property with respect. When you hire J&A Painting, you get a team that works together, not a rotating cast of subcontractors.
We serve homeowners and commercial clients across the Shenandoah Valley. We live here, we work here, and our name is on every job.

On the day we said, until the job is done. No bouncing between projects.
Prep right
Clean, scrape, sand, patch, and caulk before a drop of paint goes on. That's where the finish is won.
Respect the property
Floors, furniture, and landscaping protected. Cleaned up at the end of every project.
